The Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg (WMC) has, for more than 125 years, provided a stage for talented young Manitoba artists and supported them through scholarships and performance opportunities. Over the coming weeks, Classic 107 will introduce you to some of this year’s WMC Scholarship Winners ahead of the recital on December 29th. Awarded the Madeleine Gauvin Scholarship, multi-talented soprano Elena Howard-Scott was on Morning Light discussing what it means to have the continued support of the WMC (she being a repeat winner, awarded a prize in 2019); her love of and approach towards classical and musical theatre repertoire; Elena’s continuing studies at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto; and, more!
