About the event
The Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg offers up to seven scholarships to aspiring Manitoba-educated instrumentalists and vocalists to further their musical training. This annual competition takes place in May, and disburses prizes totaling $13,500. The winners perform for appreciative audiences in December of the same year. This year's scholarship recipients are:
Sophie Caron, cello - $3000 WMC Scholarship
Sabina Rzazade, piano - $2500 WMC Scholarship
Jayden Fraser, baritone - $2000 Madeleine Gauvin Scholarship
David Yu, piano - $2000 Virtuosi Scholarship
Émilie Strain, piano - $1500 Holtby Scholarship
